Members of the Laboratory for Mesoscopic Systems participated at the TecDay at the Kantonsschule Wohlen.

At this online event, we had a great time engaging with the high school students. We took our audience on a highly interactive journey from planetary magnets, through fridge magnets to the tiniest magnets we can use in our computers. We showed how we can look at magnets of various scales using home-made imaging techniques, light microscopes or even x-rays. Finally, we demonstrated how magnets are used in todays’ computers and how we can use them in computers of the future.
